Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is severely under-length, containing only 89 words against the minimum requirement of 150 words. This significantly impacts task completion, as the student is only able to make a few disjointed statements and leaves the response incomplete, trailing off mid-sentence ('In 2016, the age of library member was the adults 18-64'). While there is a brief attempt at an overview and mentioning some categories, the lack of development, failure to report key data accurately, and incomplete nature of the writing limit the score to Band 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text lacks proper paragraphing and structural organization. It consists of a single truncated block of writing that breaks off abruptly. Although a few cohesive devices such as 'Overall' and 'whereas' are attempted, they are used incorrectly or mechanically ('wheras the higher than increased in 2060'). Progression is absent because the ideas are jumbled together and incomplete. Consequently, the organization fails to meet the standards of higher bands, meriting a Band 4.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive. The student relies heavily on words like 'higher', 'decline', and 'period of time'. There are multiple vocabulary and word-choice errors, such as using 'kown' instead of 'known', 'member' instead of 'members', and 'wheras' repeatedly. Furthermore, numerical and data terms are used incorrectly, such as referencing the year '2060' instead of 2016. The limited range and frequent errors constrain the lexical score to Band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the short response. Sentences contain major structural errors, run-on issues, and tense confusion (e.g., 'the adults member of age was higher wheras the adults 65 age and over decline'). The text lacks complex structures, and the final sentence is incomplete. Frequent errors in basic grammar and syntax impede understanding and place the performance firmly at Band 4.0.
