The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The charts below provide information about a public library in a town known as little Chalfont.

Overall, adults aged 18-64 formed the vast majority of members, while children's fiction and adult fiction were the most borrowed items. The total number of loan increased over the period.

In 2016, 51% of members were adults aged 18-64, followed by children at 22%. Adults over 65 at 12%, and young adults at 15%. In terms of loans, children's fiction and adult fiction, both remained the highest at 38%. children's non fiction was at 6%, children's DVD's at 1%. while young adults were at 2%. adult non-fiction at 13% and adult audio books at 2%.

The total number of loans rose from 15,000 in 2007 to around 21,000 approximately in 2016. After an increase to just over 20,000 in 2011, the figure fluctuated slightly, dropping in 2013 to under 20,000before rising again to it's peak in 2016.
