The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The Charts highlight some important numbers about a public library in Little Chalfont that were recorded in 2016. They provide data about three major things that include the age of library members, total loans by category and total number of loans.

According to the pie chart, 51 members of library were aged between 18-64 followed by children that were 22 in numbers whereas young adults aged between 13-17 and those over 65 were almost equal in count with young adults (15) being slightly more than old adults (12).

In loans by category, Children's fiction and Adult fiction both accounted for 38% leading the table, followed by Adult non fiction which accounted for 13% whereas Children's DVDs, Young adults and Adult audio books were the most low loans categories that accounted for only 1%, 2% and 2% respectively.

The lowest number of loans were taken in 2007 which is 16000 only whereas in 2016 this figured surged to 22000. The years 2008 and 2009 encountered no difference in numbers of loans but it suddenly increased in 2010 from 19000 to 21000. The number of loans were maintained from 2010 to 2012 with no major change. However, 2013 faced a sudden decline from 19000 to 21000. Remaining years from 2014 till 2016, these numbers were either maintained or increased.
