IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The pie chart illustrates the proportion of user age of Little Chalfont library amoung 4 different age groups in 2016, the table presents the percentage of loans in seven different categories in the same year. Whereas, the bar graph presents the total amount of loans from 2007 to 2016.
Overall, more than half of the total library users are adults between 18 years and 64. Furthermore, both adult fiction and children's fiction category has the highest loans and the library have highest amount of loan in the latest time compared to the past.
The adults occupies 51% of total members followed by the children who is responsible for 22% of the total users. Similary, Adults above 65 and young adults between 13 and 17 are the other users who are responsible for 15% and 12% for library users respectively.
Comming to the loans by category, Children's fiction and adult fiction has the highest loan proportion of 38% which is followed by childeren's non-fiction, audio books for adult, young adults and children's DVDs.
