IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart illustrate the Little Chalfont library users by different age types in the year 2016 and bar chart describes overall loans from 2007 to 2016. Whereas, table gives the information of types of loan in the year 2016.
Overall, adults used library more in the given time period. At the same time, loans of adult fiction and children's fiction were quite popular.
In detail, in the year 2016 over a half (51%)of the library members were adults between the year 18-64 which was the highest. Under one-fourth (22%) library users were children. Young adults of age 13-17 and adults 65 or more were similar 12% and 15% following.
In 2016, in types of loan same proportion of loans 38%, were of children's fiction and adult fiction were the highest. At second 13% loans of adult non-fiction.
In 2007, almost over 15,000 loans were occurred. In the this number increased till 2011 before slight decrease in two years. After two years, numbers rose again and peaked in 2016 at nearly 22,000 loans.
