The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The charts provide information about the members and borrowing patterns of the public library in Little Chalfont.

Overall, adults aged 18–64 accounted for the largest proportion of library members, while those aged 65 and over represented the smallest group. In terms of loans, children’s fiction and adult fiction were the most popular categories. The total number of loans also increased overall between 2007 and 2016.

In 2016, 51% of library members were adults aged 18–64. Children made up 22%, followed by young adults aged 13–17, at 15%. The remaining 12% were aged 65 or over. Regarding borrowing, children’s fiction and adult fiction were equally popular, with each accounting for 38% of all loans. Adult non-fiction represented 13%, while children’s non-fiction made up 6%. Young-adult books and adult audio books each accounted for 2%, and children’s DVDs were the least popular category, at only 1%.

The total number of loans was approximately 15,500 in 2007, before rising to around 18,500 in 2008 and 2009. It then increased to about 20,000 in 2010 and peaked at roughly 20,500 in 2011. After falling slightly, the figure rose again to approximately 20,500 in 2015 and 21,000 in 2016.
