Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response attempts to cover all parts of the visual data, including the pie chart, table, and bar chart, but the information is presented rather mechanically and with several inaccuracies. For instance, the student misinterprets the age group breakdown, stating 'And adults 65 and over 15' when the chart shows 12, and confuses total members with loan percentages or numbers. While an overview is attempted ('Overall, The all liabrary members take loans...'), it is poorly structured and lacks clarity regarding the main trends. The description of the bar chart mentions an 'ups end down' and an ending of approximately 22,000, which is generally accurate according to the data (21,700 in 2016). However, the overall lack of accurate synthesis and underdeveloped comparison prevent this from reaching a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of the response is weak. While the writer attempts to use paragraphing to separate different charts, the paragraphs are disjointed and lack clear internal logic. The opening sentence is awkwardly phrased ('The pie chart , Tabel and Bar chart...'), and cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or repetitive. The second paragraph functions as a clumsy overview but fails to logically introduce the main trends. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the mechanical listing of data points without effective transitions hinders the smooth progression of information throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms such as 'number', 'people', 'loans', and 'category'. There are numerous spelling errors and typos throughout the text, including 'Tabel', 'liabrary', 'lons', 'Childrens', and 'piriod'. The student attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'percentage' and 'approximately', but overall, the range is limited and inadequate for a more precise description of statistical data. Word choices are sometimes unnatural or inaccurate, which occasionally impedes the reader's comprehension.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on simple, fragmented, or poorly constructed sentence forms. There is a frequent lack of main verbs, resulting in incomplete sentences such as 'Childrens which is 22.' and 'Young adults 13-17 15.' Punctuation and capitalization errors are widespread, including spaces before commas and missing capital letters at the beginning of sentences and after periods. Complex structures are rare and, when attempted, are grammatically flawed (e.g., 'and there is an ups end down through all over the piriod but it ending was too high...'). Errors are pervasive and frequently cause difficulty for the reader.
