The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The charts depict the data of a public library in a town named Little Chalfont.
Overall, the highest number of library members were adults and the older adults comprised the least share among all the readers. The most of loans were granted on the children’s fiction and the adult fiction. The total number of loans were increased throughout the period of ten years.
The pie chart demonstrates that the adults between 18 to 64 accounted for 51% of all the members of a library while the children made up 22%. The teenagers under 17 and the older over 65 composed only 15% and 12% respectively of all the readers.
The table chart illustrates that 78% of loans were used in two categories, namely the adult fiction and the children’s fiction. 13% and 6% of loans were given for non fiction collection to adults and children respectively. The rest of categories like DVDs and audio books contributed only a fraction of money.
The bar chart demonstrates that the total number of loans were increased from approximately 15,000 to around 22,000 from 2007 to 2011. Then the total number of loans were decreased slightly in 2013 and eventually surged over 20,000 from 2014 to 2016.
