The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 7.0)
The charts show information about public library, such as age of members, total number of loans and proportion of loans by category.
Overall, it is clear that the proportion of members aged 18-64 was highest in 2016. Furthemore, the most popular categories were children's fiction and adult fiction. Additionally, one can see that the total number of loans fluctuated but eventually increased over the period.
Looking at the details more closely, the proportion of library members aged 18-64 accounted for 51%, which was larger than the proportion of others combined. Children made up 22%, following adults aged 18-64.
It is interesting that children's and adult's fiction categories recorded the highest figures, representing 38% either. Whereas, the share of least three categories combined accounted for 5%, such as children's DVDs, adult audio books, and young adults.
The total number of loans, from 2007 to 2016, has eventually increased from nearly 15,100 to about 23,000, even though there was small decline in 2012 and 2013.
