The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The following charts illustrate the age of library members and total loans percentage taken by careogry in 2016 while highlighting the total number of loans on books between 2007 and 2016.

Overall, majority of the library members are adults between the age of 18 and 64. In addition to this, children's fiction and adult fiction books covers majority of loans percentage in 2016 while the total number of loans have increased between 2007 and 2016.

In 2016, just over half (51%) of the visitors are adults as compared to children who are little over one-fifth (22%) and young adults between 13 and 17 who takes up 15% of the total members. In contrast, adults who are 65 and above occupy only 12% of the total members. As for total loans by category, children's fiction and adult fiction both occupy 38% of the total loan while the remaining percentage is covered by children's non-fiction, children's DVDs, young adults, adult non-fiction and adult audio books whom covers 24% collectively.

Regarding the total number of loans, the number increased between 2007 and 2011 reaching approximately 21,000 from roughly 16,000. The number seemed to fall after 2011, reaching roughly 19,500 in 2013 but unexpectedly bounced back reaching approximately 22,000 in 2016.
