The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The charts illustrate the information about public library in a town called little chalfont. Units are measured in percentage and number.

Overall, it is clear that adults accounted for the largest proportion, whereas elder people represented the smallest share. Adult and children's fiction had the highest figure, while children's dvds had that lowest. The total number of loans was most in the final year as compared to initital year.

Looking first at adults between 18-64, it accounted for 51% of the total, while children represented 22%. Turning to the remaining categories, young adults between 13 to 17 made up 15 percent. Followed by adults between 65 and over at 12%. Both children's and adult fiction shared the same proportion with the percent of 38. Chidlren's dvds, adult audio books, and young adults categories recorded the lowest proportion ( 1%, 2%, 2%). Meanwhile, adult non-fiction was 13% making it lower than children's fiction.

Looking first at the initial years, the ratio of loan was very low from 2007 to 2010 with the number around slightly above 20,000. After that in 2011, it increased marginally to 22,000. By the end of the period, the figure peaked around 23,000.
