IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The pie chart illustrates the percentage of members of different age groups attending the library in year 2016 and the bar chart presents the total number of loans from 2007 to 2016 in public library in a town of Little Chalfont.
Overall, the adults between the age of 18-64 had the highest percentage among all the age groups whereas, the adults of 65 and over had the lowest. The number of loans showed steadily increase throughout the period and eventually reached the highest level at the end of the period.
The libaray was occupied by the highest percentage of age group of 18-64 and it recorded to 51. On the other hand, youngs of age 13-17 had the second most prominent percentage and it counted to 22. The children and adults of 65 and over had comparative percentage of 12 and 15 respectively.
The total amount of loan incraesed considerably thorughout the period from 2007 to 2016.It used to be [redacted phone] at the start of the period. It increased by just over 7000 at the year of 2016.
