IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The charts illustrates number of data of a public library in a borough named Little Chalfton in 2016. The charts include age groups, loaned book categories and loan frequency from 2007 to 2016.

The pie chart describes that more than 50 percent of people who visted library was aged between 18 to 64. Whereas, the next big number belonged to children which was 22%. The 15% percent of visitors were young adults aged between 13 to 17 and the remaining 15% were people above 65 yars of age.

The table shows the children's fiction and non fiction loans were 38% and 6% respectively meanwhile adult's fiction was at 38% too but non-fiction was recorded at 13%.

The bar chart recorded the number of loans taken from library from 2007 to 2016. The numbers increased steadily throughout the years. In 2007, it started with around 15000 people and kept increasing gradually and in 2016 it reached just over 20000.

Overall, the adults aged 18 and above were more prominent visitor of the library and the fiction books were very popular among both children and adults.
