The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The pie chart shows the age distribuation of Little Chalfont library and the table compares the percentages of total loans across seven different categories in 2016, while the accompanying bar graph compares the total number of borrows from 2007 to 2016.
Overall, adults aged from 18 to 64 years old was by far the most common users, with fiction books accounted for the highest proprtion of loans in 2016. The total number of loans increased gradually over the perioed, before declining slightly in 2013, and peaked afterwards on 2016.
In 2016, the percentage of adults 18-64 years old was substantially higher than the other aged groups, standing at 51%, while the figure for children, the second most common vistors, made up just 22%. By contrast, young adults 13-17 and adults 65 and over accounted for the lowest pecentages of users, at 15% and 12%, respectively.
Looking at total loans, fiction books was the most populared categories, holding 38% for children fiction and a similar value for adult fiction (38%). Meanwhile, adult non-fiction recorded just 13%, with children non-fiction constituted 6% of the total loans. In comparison, adult audio books and young adults made up just 2% each, with that for children DVDs recording the lowest popular borrow, at 1%.
