Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response makes a clear attempt to cover the charts and table, identifying the main features such as the dominant membership age group and the popularity of fiction. However, the text cuts off mid-sentence ('in contratst non ficiton'), and more importantly, the response falls significantly short of the 150-word minimum requirement, containing only 117 words. This under-length impacts task fulfillment and prevents a full exploration of all trends, such as the specific percentages of book loans across categories. Consequently, the task achievement is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The writing attempts an overall structure with an introductory overview and subsequent body details, using basic cohesive markers such as 'Overall' and 'In 2016'. However, due to the abrupt ending, paragraphing is underdeveloped and logical progression is disrupted before the final comparison can be completed. Referencing is generally clear up to the point of termination, but the mechanical nature of the linking devices and the incomplete text prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting appropriate terms like 'dominated', 'vast majority', and 'categories'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'tge', 'childern's', 'adukts', 'wwere', 'Additinally', 'experinced', 'stedy', 'trnd', 'categoris', 'contratst', and 'ficiton'. These repetitive slips in basic vocabulary spelling affect readability, though the intended meaning remains mostly understandable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as introductory participial phrases ('looking at the borrowed categoris in the same year'). Control over grammar is undermined by frequent typographical and mechanical errors, punctuation issues, and the fact that the writing terminates abruptly mid-sentence. While basic grammatical structures are generally sound, the overall accuracy is compromised by the accumulation of word-level errors and the incomplete final sentence.
