Conversely, young adults and adult audio books are similar in the same given period. While adults non-fiction record double that the non-fiction children's.

Consequently, the number of loans in the bar chart in 2007 was 15,000 after showed experienced a slight increase in 2010 at 20,000. Furthermore, in 2013 marginally dropping to the number of loans at 19,000. Therefore access dropped sharply in 2016 at 21,000.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response attempts to cover all parts of the visual data, including the bar chart, pie chart, and table, but the overview is very weak and fails to present a clear picture of the main trends. For instance, stating that 'adults have the highest number of loans by category' is confusing, as categories are specific items like fiction. Furthermore, some data points are inaccurate or poorly reported, such as saying 'Children DVDs represents decline at 1%' when the chart shows it as a percentage share of loans in 2016. The description lacks clear selection and comparison, resulting in an only partial address of the prompt. (Note: 9 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the word count).

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, and an overall progression is attempted, but cohesive devices are used inaccurately and mechanically. Words like 'Consequently', 'Furthermore', and 'Therefore' are misused to link unrelated points rather than showing logical cause-and-effect or sequential relationships. For example, 'Consequently, the number of loans in the bar chart in 2007 was 15,000...' makes little logical sense in context. Referencing between sentences is often unclear, making the flow disjointed and difficult for the reader to follow smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary and subject-specific terms, such as 'proportion', 'category', and 'fiction', but encounters noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation. For instance, 'Children fiction' lacks proper possessive phrasing, 'respesctively' contains a spelling error, and terms like 'access dropped sharply' misuse 'access' instead of loans or figures. These lexical inaccuracies cause some difficulty and strain for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response shows a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple or faulty complex constructions. Frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the text, including tense confusion ('after showed experienced a slight increase'), missing articles ('adults have the highest number'), and awkward prepositional or clausal patterns ('marginally dropping to the number of loans at 19,000'). These frequent errors and awkward phrasings cause regular difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar from reaching a higher level.
