Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally and remains extremely incomplete, cutting off after just 66 words. This falls well short of the 150-word minimum requirement. While the writer makes a brief attempt to mention the pie chart and table, the data is not adequately presented or developed, and no mention is made of the line graph showing loans over time. To improve, the student must ensure all parts of the visual information are summarised and meet the required word count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The text lacks overall coherence and proper organizational structure due to its severe brevity. Although a few basic cohesive markers like 'Overall' and 'while' are attempted, the information is not arranged in a coherent progression, and the text breaks off abruptly mid-sentence ('In 2016, pie chart was divided into four age agroups'). Paragraphing is disjointed and inadequate. To reach higher bands, the writer needs to structure the response into a clear introduction, overview, and well-developed body paragraphs with logical flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, showing a limited range appropriate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'agroups' (spelling), 'total loan' instead of 'total loans', and incorrect verb forms like 'The pie chart illustrate'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with inaccuracy, and the limited range restricts precision. To improve, the student should expand their range of vocabulary for reporting data and pay closer attention to word forms and plurals.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence attempts that are often faulty. There are frequent basic errors, including missing articles ('The pie chart illustrate', 'table provide', 'in pie chart', 'lowest percentage was held'), incorrect verb agreement, and incomplete sentence structures. These errors reflect a lack of control over basic grammatical structures. To progress, the writer needs to focus on accurate subject-verb agreement, article usage, and forming complete, grammatically sound sentences.
