Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response covers all three visual components provided in the prompt, successfully selecting and reporting the main features with relevant comparisons. You clearly identified that adults formed the largest group of library members at 51, and accurately contrasted the highest loan categories of children's and adult fiction at 38% each. The overview of the bar chart correctly highlights the general upward trend between 2007 and 2016. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed; for instance, the details regarding the remaining age groups and smaller loan categories could have been integrated more smoothly. You meet the requirements for the lower band while showing glimpses of higher-level selection, though fully extending every comparison would lift this aspect further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas. You make good use of introductory transitional phrases such as 'To begin with,' and 'With accordance to total loans by category,' which help guide the reader through the different charts. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each chart receiving its own dedicated focus. Nevertheless, cohesion occasionally feels somewhat mechanical, and referencing is not always completely clear—such as the awkward phrasing 'With accordance to'. To achieve a higher level, cohesive devices should be varied more flexibly and used with greater naturalness, ensuring that transitions between the pie chart, table, and bar chart flow seamlessly without relying on formulaic connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main statistical details. You attempt less common vocabulary items such as 'proportion', 'gradually improvement', and 'marginally declined trend', which demonstrates an effort to expand your lexical range. However, there are notable word-choice, word-form, and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'differenta', 'childrens' instead of 'children', 'childrend's', 'agument' instead of 'augmentation' or 'growth', and 'slighly'. These inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, but they restrict your score. To reach the next level, you need to use a wider range of precise vocabulary with better control over spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting various grammatical forms to report the data. Sentences such as 'To begin with, adults were the major users of library, which accounted for 51' show an ability to combine clauses. However, there are persistent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly missing articles ('users of library', 'number of loan'), incorrect prepositions ('in differenta age group', 'With accordance to'), and subject-verb agreement issues ('other categories are remained'). While these errors rarely impede communication, they prevent you from achieving a higher band. Improving your control over articles, plurals, and prepositions within grammatical patterns will lead to more accurate sentence structures.
