Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main features: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group, fiction dominates borrowing, and loan totals fluctuate. Several figures are also reported accurately, including the 51% adult membership share, the 12% share for members aged 65 and over, and the 38% shares for both fiction categories. However, the overview is brief, and the account of the loan trend is cut off after “after that it ii,” so the later pattern and the final total are not explained. Also, “the children fiction has the most amount of loan” overlooks that adult fiction has an equal share. To strengthen the response, compare the two leading categories explicitly and complete the trend description through 2016.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs covering membership, loan categories, and the time series. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression becomes difficult to follow in the final paragraph because the trend account stops mid-sentence at “after that it ii.” Some linking is also mechanical or unclear: “While” begins a fragment-like contrast in the overview, and “However” does not establish a clear contrast with the preceding membership figures. Use complete sentences and organise the final paragraph chronologically, linking the rise, subsequent fluctuations, and ending value. Clearer references to each chart would also help the paragraphs connect.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “majority,” “fluctuated,” “category,” and “remained,” and the reader can generally identify the groups and trends you mean. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, for example “libary,” “mambers,” “tabel,” “theri,” and “flactuated.” Several phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “the most amount of loan,” “the using libary,” and “lowest loans were on.” These errors make parts of the report harder to read and limit the precision of your comparisons. Practise accurate spelling of key task vocabulary and use standard collocations such as “accounted for the largest share” and “recorded the fewest loans.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the opening contrast with “While” and the time-series sentence beginning “The total number of loans in 2007…”. However, control is weak across many sentences. Examples include “The pie chart represent,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “the 51 percent of libary member were adults,” which has problems with articles, number, and agreement. The sentence beginning “While the children fiction…” is not a complete independent sentence, and the final sentence is unfinished. These patterns sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Focus on complete sentence boundaries, singular/plural agreement, and consistent past-tense reporting; then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
