Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

You cover all three visuals and provide a clear overview: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group, fiction leads the loan categories, and loans rise overall. The membership figures and category percentages are reported accurately, including the equal 38% shares and the 1% figure for children’s DVDs. The trend description is broadly correct, but “rose consistently” overstates the pattern: loans fell after 2011 and again in 2013, before increasing to about 21,700 in 2016. The final paragraph would be stronger if it noted these fluctuations and the peak, rather than presenting only a steady rise. Overall, the main features are selected and supported, with some tendency to generalise the time-series trend.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5

The response is organised into a clear introduction, overview and three focused detail paragraphs, moving logically from membership to borrowing categories and then total loans. Phrases such as “Regarding,” “In terms of” and “Finally” help signal these shifts, and the reader can follow the comparisons without difficulty. The overview also brings together the main points effectively. To make the progression more precise, connect the final trend description to the fluctuations in the chart instead of saying loans rose “consistently.” Some transitions are formulaic, but they do not disrupt the overall flow. More varied linking and clearer contrast between the rises and dips would make the cohesion more flexible.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-relevant vocabulary, including “made up,” “represented,” “accounted for,” “equally popular” and “upward trend.” These choices communicate the data clearly, and there is some variation in how proportions are described. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “libraru,” “fromed,” “Browwing,” and “ten-yers” appear in the response. Some phrases are also awkward, such as “books categories borrowed,” “Young adults book,” and “total number of books loans.” Use standard collocations such as “loan categories,” “loans to young adults” and “total number of loans.” Greater accuracy and more natural phrasing would strengthen the vocabulary control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and more developed sentence forms, including the overview’s contrast with “while” and the comparison “whereas children’s non-fiction accounted for 6%.” Most sentences remain understandable, and the paragraph structure supports the meaning. Some grammatical and punctuation errors persist, however. The opening phrase “members of library” needs an article and possessive structure, while “children'fiction” and “children's DVD's” show inconsistent apostrophe use. There is also a missing space after “Overall,” and the comma in “children'fiction, and adult fiction” is unnecessary. The final trend sentence is grammatically clear, but its wording could be more precise. More careful editing of articles, punctuation and possessives would improve accuracy.
