Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover all three visuals and provide a clear overview: adults form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the biggest loan shares, and total loans generally rise over the period. Several key figures are reported accurately, including 51% for adults aged 18–64, 38% for each fiction category, and 1% for children’s DVDs. The trend description is broadly sound, though the final figure is about 21,700 rather than simply “more than 20,000,” and the dip around 2012–13 is described imprecisely. Also, “major sales” is not supported: the chart shows loan proportions, not sales. To strengthen the report, include a few more precise comparisons, such as the rise from about 15,700 to 21,700 and the 2016 peak.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph giving supporting details. This helps the reader follow the three visuals, and the sequence from membership to loan categories and then yearly totals is generally logical. However, the overview repeats much of the introduction by explaining what each chart shows rather than summarising the main findings. The final paragraph also repeats details already given in the overview, particularly the fiction shares and overall upward trend. Some linking is mechanical, as in “Lastly” and “While stating from 2007 to 2016,” and the reference to “the graph in middle” is unclear. Grouping the key comparisons once and using clearer links between them would make progression more effective.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportions,” “categories,” “fluctuations,” and “represented,” so the reader can identify the main subjects. However, the range and control are limited by repeated use of “lones” and “graph,” and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural: “major sales” for loan shares, “most visiting age group,” and “increasing ratio.” Spelling errors such as “Adluts,” “childern’s,” “discribe,” and “acconted” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for accurate collocations and vary the terms used for the data, for example, “loans,” “borrowing,” and “loan total.” More precise vocabulary would help distinguish membership figures from borrowing patterns.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “whereas” and a time clause beginning “From 2007 to 2016.” Meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “the total number of lones took,” which needs a passive construction (“loans taken out”), and “a increasing trend,” where the article should be “an.” There are also problems with sentence structure in “While stating from 2007 to 2016 the graph…” and with agreement in “the table discribe.” Articles and prepositions are also inconsistent, as in “in a area.” Work on forming complete clauses, using passive verb forms for loans, and checking agreement and articles. These corrections would make your varied attempts clearer and more reliable.
