Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three visuals and provide a relevant overview: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the biggest loan shares, and total loans generally rise despite a dip. Most figures are accurately reported, including the 51% adult membership and the 38% shares for both fiction categories. However, the overview is not fully precise: the smallest membership group is adults aged 65 and over (12%), while the smallest loan category is children’s DVDs (1%). The statement that young adults and adult audiobooks “remained unchanged” is unsupported, as the chart gives only their 2016 shares. To strengthen the response, distinguish the two charts’ comparisons clearly and describe the loan trend with its key stages, including the rise to 2011 and subsequent fluctuations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for membership, loan categories, and the time series. This makes the information easy to locate, and phrases such as “Overall,” “In 2016,” and “Looking at” help signal shifts. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “Young adults and Adult audio books reamained unchanged” appears in the overview and is repeated in the category paragraph, although no change over time is shown for these categories. The membership and category paragraphs also repeat the smallest-category comparison rather than developing distinct details. Improve progression by grouping related comparisons once, using clear references to each visual, and reserving the final paragraph for the trend over time.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “fluctuated,” and “increased steadily,” which helps communicate the main data. There is some range in how you describe quantities and trends, but spelling errors and imprecise collocations reduce control: examples include “precentage,” “childern’s,” “accunted,” “ficition,” and “reamained.” “Largest group of library” is also an unnatural phrase; “largest membership group” would be clearer. In addition, “remained unchanged” is not an appropriate description when the chart shows only one year for those categories. Proofread carefully and choose precise terms for what each visual measures, such as “share of loans” rather than a general “type of material.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “Adults 65 and over was smallest group” needs plural agreement and an article (“were the smallest group”), while “the figure rose again and reaching” mixes verb forms; use “rose again, reaching.” The sentence beginning “In 2007” joins two independent clauses with a comma, and “Young adults and adults audio books were remained” has an incorrect passive construction. There is also inconsistent punctuation around dates and percentages. Build accuracy by checking each sentence’s subject and verb, keeping parallel verb forms, and separating complete clauses correctly.
