Student answer (Band 6.0)
The charts illustrates information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
The pie chart gives us the demography about the age of library members in the year 2016. The age group with the most memberships are adults ranging from 18-64 with a total of 51%, on the contrary the demography with the least members are adults ranging from 65 and over with the total membership percentage of 12. The age with the second most membership are children with 22%, followed by young adults at 15% ranging from 13-17.
On the other hand, the table gives us information about total loans by category in the year 2016, with the children's fiction and adult fiction having an equal amount of loans at 38%, more than all the other categories. While the category with the least amount of loans is the children's DVDs with a loan of 1%, followed by young adults and adult audio books both at 2%.
The year with the highest number of loans are in the year 2016 more then 20,000, the number of loans decrease as we move backward in the given years until the year 2013.The year with the lowest amount of loans is 2007.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover all three visuals and identify several important comparisons accurately: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group at 51%, fiction categories each account for 38% of loans, and 2007 is the lowest point for borrowing. However, the account of the line graph is incomplete and partly misleading. You say loans “decrease as we move backward” until 2013, but the series fluctuates, and 2013 is not the endpoint of that decline: loans rise again from 19,600 in 2013 to 21,700 in 2016. The overview also omits the broad pattern that loans rose overall from 2007 to 2016. Include this trend and describe the fluctuations more precisely to make the summary more complete and accurate.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response is arranged in a sensible sequence, with separate paragraphs for membership, loan categories and the yearly trend. This makes the different visuals easy to locate, and transitions such as “On the other hand” help signal a change of focus. However, the final paragraph gives only a brief account of the line graph and does not clearly connect its fluctuations to the overall rise. Some linking is also mechanical or imprecise: “on the contrary” does not express a contrast between the largest and smallest groups as naturally as a direct comparison would. Build a clearer overview and use transitions that show the exact relationship between ideas; this would make progression more consistent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “demography,” “membership,” “category,” and “highest number of loans,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “ranging from 18–64.” However, several expressions are awkward or repetitive: “the demography about the age” and “the age with the second most membership” are not natural ways to describe the data, while “loan of 1%” is an imprecise collocation. “More then” also contains a spelling error, and repeated use of “total” adds little. Prefer concise chart language such as “proportion of members,” “accounted for,” and “share of loans” to improve precision and naturalness.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, including clauses introduced by “with” and “while,” and the main comparisons remain understandable. However, some errors in agreement and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “The charts illustrates” should use a plural verb, and “The age group with the most memberships are adults” has a mismatch between the singular subject and verb. “The year with the highest number of loans are in the year 2016” is also awkwardly constructed, and the sentence beginning “While the category…” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Check subject–verb agreement and ensure each sentence has a clear main clause; vary sentence patterns while keeping them accurate.
