Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify all three visuals and report several relevant figures, including the largest membership group (adults aged 18–64, 51%) and the two largest loan categories (children’s and adult fiction, both 38%). However, the response gives little overall synthesis: it does not clearly compare the charts or summarise the main pattern in loans over time. The trend description is also incomplete and partly inaccurate: loans generally rise from about 15,700 in 2007 to 21,700 in 2016, but there are several fluctuations, not just a minor decline in 2013. You also call the membership chart data from 2026, although it is for 2016. Finally, the response is one word below the required minimum. Add a concise overview and report the key trend more accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, useful structure: it discusses the membership chart, then the loan-category table, and finally the loans-over-time chart. This makes the source of most information easy to follow. However, progression within the final paragraph is limited, and the account reads mainly as a list of figures rather than a connected summary. Linking is sparse, while phrases such as “Then comes” and “The information given in the table” do little to show meaningful comparisons. Some punctuation and spacing also interrupt the flow. To improve, use a clear overview before the details, group related comparisons together, and connect the time-series figures with language that shows the overall rise and intervening fluctuations.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic vocabulary to identify the visuals and categories, including “members,” “fiction,” “non-fiction,” “loan,” and “decline.” Some attempts at describing change, such as “increased” and “enhanced,” also show awareness of the task’s language. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “ratio” is repeatedly used where “proportion” or “percentage” is intended, and “enhanced” does not naturally describe loan totals. There are also spelling errors, including “remarable” and “accured,” and inconsistent forms such as “pi chart.” Aim for precise chart vocabulary and check spelling; for example, describe totals as “rose,” “fell,” or “fluctuated,” rather than using general or unsuitable terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate the basic information through mostly short, simple sentences, and some sentence boundaries are clear. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response awkward. For example, “This chart basically provide three types of information the library” has subject–verb agreement and sentence-structure problems; “51 percent members … belongs to age group” is missing grammatical links and has agreement errors. The final sentence, “It slightly enhanced till 2016 except, 2013,” also has an unclear construction and faulty punctuation. Use complete clauses with accurate articles and prepositions, and vary sentence patterns to compare figures. Proofreading for agreement, sentence boundaries, and punctuation would make the information easier to understand.
