The pie chart, the table and the bar chart illustrates the proportion of data about a town's public library known as Little Chalfont.
Overall, the pie chart provides information about library members counts depending on their age groups. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three visuals and identify several important features, including the largest membership group, the two leading loan categories, and the overall rise in loans over the period. The account is generally relevant, but some details are inaccurate or unclear: the age figures are percentages, not member counts, and the 12% group is adults aged 65 and over, while the 15% group is young adults. The table’s young-adult share is 2%, not 1%. The trend description also simplifies the data: loans fluctuate rather than increasing each year, and the rise after 2013 is not a steady one-thousand increase. A more precise overview and careful reporting of these comparisons would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the membership, loan categories, and time-series chart. This makes the three sources easy to follow, and transitions such as “Similarly” and “After that” help signal relationships. However, the overview mainly describes what each visual shows rather than summarising the most significant patterns across them. Some linking is mechanical or awkward, particularly “However” when introducing the bar chart and “Subsequently” before the category figures. The final paragraph also moves through years without consistently distinguishing rises from falls. To strengthen progression, group related comparisons and use connectors that express the exact relationship between the data.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “categories,” “decline,” and “subsequent,” so the main information is usually understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “members counts,” “loans taken by library,” and “the loan continues to marked.” There are also spelling errors, including “mebers” and “loand,” and repeated use of “total loans” makes the description less precise. Choose standard data-reporting phrases such as “the proportion of members,” “loans borrowed,” and “the number of loans rose.” Check spelling carefully and vary terms only where the meaning remains accurate, for example, “loan volume” or “share.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including relative clauses such as “whose age ranges from 18–64” and time clauses such as “After that.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but some errors in agreement, sentence construction, and verb forms remain. For example, “the pie chart, the table and the bar chart illustrates” needs a plural verb, while “the total number of loans were” requires singular agreement. The fragment beginning “While lowest…” is not a complete sentence, and “it get a sharp decline” has an incorrect verb form and construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, especially around percentages and sentence boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete comparisons, while retaining the complex structures you are attempting.
