Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover all three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group (51%), fiction accounts for the largest loan share (38% for both children’s and adult fiction), and loans rise overall across the period. Most category figures are reported accurately. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the chart gives the 65-and-over group as 12%, not “above 60,” and the overview’s claim that this group had the fewest loans confuses membership with loan categories. The trend description also omits the later fluctuations and the 2016 endpoint, and “highest trend at approximately 2016” does not state the total. A more precise overview and clearer reporting of the loan trend would strengthen coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for membership and loans. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression is uneven, particularly in the final paragraph, where category percentages and the time-series trend are combined without a clear transition. Connectors such as “In contrast” do not express a clear contrast between the preceding information and the table, while “moreover” joins ideas that are not closely related. The final trend sentence is difficult to follow because its time points are not presented in a logical sequence. Group the two 2016 charts together, then describe the loan trend chronologically, using clear links between comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “category,” “decline steadily,” and “rose,” but word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “formation of a public library,” “accessed loans,” and “highest trend” do not accurately describe the charts; use terms such as “membership composition,” “loans,” and “highest total.” There are also repeated spelling errors, including “Initailly,” “accesed,” “ficition,” and “incresead.” Aim for precise, natural collocations rather than adding complex-sounding wording. For example, describe adults as “accounting for 51% of members” and say that loans “increased from approximately 15,700 to 21,700.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, especially when clauses are joined. For example, “In 2007 was the earliest year which become particularly incresead…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and the sentence about the 2016 total does not express a complete, meaningful comparison. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “the age of adults in a library had the highest percentage members” and “children's fiction were the highest category.” Commas are often missing after introductory phrases and between clauses. Use a clear subject and verb in each sentence, check singular/plural agreement, and separate the membership, category, and trend comparisons into shorter, controlled sentences.
