Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You cover all three visuals and identify several important comparisons, including the equal 38% shares for children’s and adult fiction and the adult 18–64 group as the largest membership category. However, some figures are misreported: the age figures are percentages, not numbers of people, and you describe the 13–17 group as “15 people.” You also incorrectly say adult fiction or children’s non-fiction account for 13% and 6%; adult non-fiction is 13%, while children’s non-fiction is 6%. The overview of loans is incomplete: the total rises overall, but it fluctuates after 2010 rather than increasing continuously. Select the main patterns accurately and distinguish the categories clearly to make the summary more complete and reliable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, useful structure: separate paragraphs address membership, loan categories and the trend over time. Phrases such as “According to” and “Now turning” help signal these shifts, so the reader can follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly where several age groups and figures are joined in one long sentence. The reference to “first table” is also confusing because the visuals include a pie chart and a table, and the final paragraph gives only a broad trend without clearly describing its stages. Use a concise overview followed by logically grouped details, and connect comparisons explicitly rather than relying on repeated transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “members,” “total loans,” “categories,” and “increased,” which makes the subject generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the data difficult to interpret. For example, “highest amount of members” is unnatural, “their age wew between 81-64” is unclear, and “loan amount” is repeated where “number of loans” would be more precise. There are also spelling errors such as “chalfont,” “percentge,” and “laon.” Build a small set of accurate chart-description phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make comparisons clearer and more appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt longer sentences and use some comparison structures, for example, “while the second highest amount people…” and “between from 2008 to 2016…,” but these attempts are often faulty. Errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction occur throughout: “The provided chart or table give” should use a plural subject with “give” only if both are intended, while “According the pie chart” needs a preposition. Several clauses lack clear grammatical links, and punctuation spacing is inconsistent, as in “chart, the.” Most sentences remain difficult to control when they contain multiple comparisons. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “while,” “whereas” and “although.”
