Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant features, including the largest membership group (adults, at 51%), the equal 38% shares for children’s and adult fiction, and the low 1% share for children’s DVDs. You also describe the overall rise in loans from 2007 to 2016. However, the response only partially covers the charts: the loan-category details are selective, and the membership figures are confused when you say adults and young adults have 15% and 12% respectively; the chart shows 15% for adults aged 65 and over and 12% for children. The trend is also imprecise around the early years. The response is 12 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to report and compare key features. Include the missing distinctions and check each figure against the chart.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview and further details, and it attempts to group information from the charts. However, progression is not consistently clear. The sentence beginning “Also Young adults In 2007” abruptly shifts from the loan categories to the time-series chart, and “Similarly” does not clearly connect the membership overview to the loan data. Some information is repeated, such as the prominence of adults and children’s fiction, while the final paragraph combines unrelated points. Use separate, clearly ordered paragraphs for membership, loan categories and the trend, and use linking phrases only when they show a precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “slight fall,” “gradually increased” and “peak,” which helps communicate the main data. However, the range is limited and several word-choice or spelling errors make parts difficult to interpret. “Friction” is used instead of “fiction” more than once, and “loans are taken on books” is an unnatural expression. “Morethan” is incorrectly joined, while “very less” is not an appropriate way to describe the smallest share. Aim for accurate chart language such as “accounted for,” “the proportion of loans,” and “the number of loans rose.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard collocations would make your comparisons clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates some basic comparisons, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “The chart describes about different age of library members” has an incomplete and awkward grammatical pattern, while “there are many loans are taken” contains an incorrect verb construction. In “Morethan 50 percentage of library members are Adults,” the noun phrase and agreement are not controlled, and the sentence about adults and young adults makes the relationships between figures unclear. Tense and sentence boundaries also need attention in the final paragraph. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled comparisons using forms such as “Adults made up 51%” and “loans rose from … to …”.
