Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three visuals and provide a relevant overview: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction dominates loans, and total loans rise overall. Several comparisons are useful, including the equal 38% shares for children’s and adult fiction. However, some figures are misassigned: the chart shows children at 12%, young adults at 15%, and adults aged 65 and over at 12%, whereas your account gives children 22% and reverses the latter two groups. The trend description also misses the 2010–2015 fluctuations and incorrectly suggests a gradual rise from 2008. More accurate reporting of the age data and a clearer account of the loan trend would make the response more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs addressing the membership and loan information. This makes the main areas easy to identify. You also use signposting such as “Overall,” “Looking at,” and “Regarding.” However, progression within the final paragraph is less clear: it moves from category shares to the yearly trend, and phrases such as “During this years” do not clearly connect the years being discussed. Some linking is mechanical, with repeated “In addition” and “According to.” Grouping the category comparisons separately from the timeline, then describing the timeline in chronological order, would improve cohesion and make references between years clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “proportion,” “fluctuations,” and “percentage,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons you intend. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “absolutely same percent,” “third times less,” and “the highest number … which grown gradually.” There are also spelling errors, including “adul” and “Furthemore,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural reporting language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe equal shares as “the same proportion,” and say that a figure was “approximately one-third lower” rather than using “third times less.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer comparative sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly with articles, agreement, and verb forms. Examples include “proportion of children were 22,” “children’s fiction were 38%,” and “which grown gradually”; these need forms such as “the proportion of children was 12%,” “children’s fiction accounted for 38%,” and “which grew gradually.” Some sentence patterns are also incomplete or awkward, as in “Compared to adult non-fiction was third times less.” Practise building accurate comparison clauses and checking subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms before submitting.
