Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify all three visuals and include a relevant overview, noting that adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group and that children’s DVDs account for the smallest loan share. The membership figures are broadly accurate. However, the overview is incomplete: it says adults took the highest number of loans, although the chart shows equal shares for adult fiction and children’s fiction (38% each), and it does not summarise the overall loan trend. The final description that loans “fluctuated till the end” is too general; the total rose from about 15,700 in 2007 to 21,700 in 2016, with some variation in between. Develop the comparisons across all visuals and report the main loan-category shares to make the response more complete and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that move from membership figures to loan information. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “Moving to the rest of the information” help signal these shifts. However, some links are mechanical, and the final paragraph combines the loan-category table with the decade-long trend without clearly distinguishing the two. The standalone sentences beginning “Which was…” also interrupt the flow and leave their references unclear. Group related figures together, use complete sentences, and make the relationship between each comparison explicit. This would strengthen progression while preserving the generally coherent structure already present.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of task vocabulary, including “age group,” “membership,” “proportion,” “category,” and “fluctuated,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “loans took,” “membership volume,” and “loans recorded.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less natural, and “highest number of membership and loan” does not accurately express the chart’s equal 38% shares for two loan categories. Aim for precise terms such as “members,” “share of loans,” and “the total number of loans,” and vary your reporting verbs. More accurate collocations would improve clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms and use time references such as “in 2016” and “between 2007 and 2016,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in agreement and verb forms: “The presented pie chart depict” needs a singular verb, while “the loans took” and “were register” use incorrect forms. Articles and number are also problematic in “approximately 51 membership.” The fragments “Which was the maximum…” and “Which was the lowest…” should be joined to the preceding sentences or rewritten as complete clauses. Most sentences remain understandable, but these recurring errors limit accuracy. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, and singular/plural nouns.
