Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group, children’s and adult fiction each account for 38% of loans, and the 2007 total is the lowest. These points are generally grounded in the data. However, the overview’s claim that 2016 had the highest loan amount is not clearly distinguished from the category figures, and the trend description is incomplete: loans rose overall from about 15,700 to 21,700, with fluctuations rather than a simple rise to 2011 followed by an unspecified increase. Develop the overview by summarising the overall trend and the dominant loan categories, and report the age-group figures more precisely and consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to membership and loan-category details, then the time series. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several links are unclear or mechanical. For example, “Whereas” does not form a complete contrast with the preceding sentence, while “In total number of loans” introduces the final chart awkwardly. The semicolon and “and also” do not clearly connect the final trend points. Use one paragraph for each visual or group of related information, and connect comparisons explicitly—for example, contrast the two 38% categories with the smaller shares, then describe the loan trend chronologically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary such as “proportion,” “category,” “total loans,” and “largest,” so the main subject is usually understandable. There is some attempt at more formal reporting language, but word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and occasionally make the meaning less clear. Examples include “equat” for “equal,” “sudfen” for “sudden,” and “least part” where “smallest group” would be more natural. Phrases such as “to get the loans” and “in given period” are also imprecise for describing figures. Build a reliable set of collocations for charts, including “accounted for,” “stood at,” “rose to,” and “the lowest figure,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including comparisons and clauses, but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in examples such as “The chart and provides information” and “adults in between 18-64 is the largest proportion is 51.” The overview also contains a sentence fragment beginning “Whereas,” and punctuation is often missing after introductory phrases, as in “Overall,it is seen.” These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise writing complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add comparisons using accurate structures such as “Adults aged 18–64 made up 51% of members, while those aged 65 and over accounted for 12%.”
