In 2016, adults aged 18-64 accounted for more than half of all members, while children made up made up 38%. regarding book categories, fiction was the most popular among both adults and children, each at 38%. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You identify the main features clearly: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction leads borrowing, and total loans rise overall despite fluctuations. The figures for adult and children’s fiction (38% each) and the non-fiction shares are accurately reported. The description of the loan trend is broadly sound, though “gradually rose approximately 20,000 until 2011” compresses several distinct values, and the account of the later recovery would be stronger if it noted the small dip in 2014 before loans rose to about 21,700 in 2016. Also, children account for 22% of members, not 38%; 38% refers to the combined adult age groups. More precise reporting of this comparison would make the overview and supporting details more consistently accurate and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response is organised into a clear introduction, overview, membership/category details, and a paragraph on the loan trend. This gives the reader a logical progression through the different visuals, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “while,” and “However” help signal comparisons and change. The overview also usefully brings together the main patterns. Some connections could be more precise: “The numbers of loans increased and flactuated” is followed by a trend description that does not fully distinguish the early rise, later dip, and final increase. The transition “regarding book categories” is also abrupt. Use more specific links between the overview and details, and ensure each paragraph develops one clearly defined aspect of the charts.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.5

You use a suitable range of chart vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “most popular,” “declined,” “recovery,” and “reaching a peak.” These choices help describe proportions and trends, and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, several inaccurate or awkward expressions that limit precision: “flactuated” is misspelled, “was proportioned for less than 2%” is not a natural way to report shares, and “made up made up” repeats a phrase. “Strong recovery” also overstates the modest changes shown after 2013. At this level, the vocabulary is adequate and includes some effective choices, but more accurate collocations and careful proofreading would show greater flexibility and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example the contrast in “adults aged 18–64 accounted for more than half … while children…” and the clause beginning “reaching a peak.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors and awkward constructions are present. In “children made up made up 38%,” the repeated verb needs removing; “Children DVDs, adult audio book and young adult was proportioned” has problems with articles, plurals, and subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “The bar chart shows” also needs a clearer grammatical connection between the rise and the later decline. Aim to check agreement and noun forms, and use complete, well-controlled clauses when describing changes over time.
