Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the charts and attempt to report the main features, including that adults form the largest membership group and that loans generally rose over time. However, several key details are misread or unclear: adults aged 65 and over are the smallest group at 12%, but you later assign 12 to young adults; the children’s figure is 22%, while young adults account for 15%. The loan total did not increase steadily, and the final figure is about 21,700, not “2.” The category table is not described at all. The response is also 29 words below the required minimum, leaving the overview and comparisons substantially underdeveloped. Add accurate comparisons across all three visuals and support them with selected figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction and separate paragraphs, and linking expressions such as “moreover” and “looking first” show awareness of how to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the paragraphs do not clearly separate the membership data from the loan trend, and some statements contradict one another—for example, the smallest group is first identified as adults aged 65 and over, then as young adults. Connectors such as “however” and “after that” do not make the intended comparisons clear. Use a clear sequence: introduce the visuals, give an overview, then describe membership and loan figures in distinct sections, with accurate references between points.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “largest,” “smallest,” and “total number of loans,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the data difficult to interpret: “four children differents stages public” does not accurately describe the age groups, while “the highest increased adults” confuses membership size with change over time. There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “twon,” “loens,” and “childeren,” which reduce clarity. Build a reliable set of chart terms—such as “accounted for,” “share,” “membership group,” and “loan total”—and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to form longer sentences using clauses and linking words, for example, “moreover total number of loens increased all throught the period however…”. This shows an effort to connect ideas, but sentence boundaries and punctuation are often missing, and the resulting structures are hard to follow. There are problems with articles and agreement, as in “adults for the largest proportion,” and with verb forms in “it can be see.” The final sentence, “the bar chart increased ALL YEAR steadily,” also lacks a clear grammatical subject for the trend. Practise accurate simple comparison sentences first, then combine them with clauses using correct punctuation and verb forms.
