Student answer (Band 6.0)
The different graphs and table provide information about library members, along with total number of loans and categories of books lent respectively in a community library located in the town of Little Chalfont.
Overall, young adults to senior citizens proportionated for majority of library members. Popular among the readers was the category of children's fiction and least consumed content was media form of audio and video.Even though fluctuating trends were noticed throught out in total number of loans given out however, marked and increase by end of time period.
On analysing the trends, readers aged 18 to 64 marked majority proportion of library with constituting more than over half of the members(51%), while children, young adults and senior citizen proportionating to 22 , 15, 22 percentage point respectively.
Popular among all the categories that library had to offer was children fiction which was borrowed and read by almost about 40% of the members. Other categories like children's DVD, young adults and adult audio books were lowly perceived by the audience.
From span of nine years, total number of lenting in the library fluctutated. The first year marked lowest number of loans however seemed a significat number for the growth that was coming in the progressing years. On moving through the years, highest lentings were made of over 20,000 in 2011. Although a decline was marked, it retained its peak in the last year with over 20,000 lendings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover all three visuals and provide a relevant overview: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, children’s and adult fiction lead the loan categories, and loans rise overall despite fluctuations. Several details are accurate, including the 51% adult membership figure and the low shares for DVDs, young adults and audio books. However, there is a significant data error: the 65-and-over group is 12%, not 22%; the figures for children and young adults are also presented as “percentage point” rather than clearly as percentages. The loan trend is only partly developed: 2007 is the low point, but the peak is 2016, not 2011. More precise comparisons and a clearer account of the final rise would strengthen coverage of the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to an overview and then to details about membership, categories and loans. This makes the main areas of the task easy to identify. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “On analysing the trends” and “From span of nine years” help signal progression, although some are awkward or used mechanically. The overview also combines several points in a long sentence, and the final paragraph’s sequence is not fully clear: it says loans peaked in 2011, then suggests the peak was retained in the last year. Use one focused paragraph per visual or related set of data, and make comparisons explicit so the reader can follow the trend without having to resolve conflicting statements.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You attempt a range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “fluctuating trends,” “decline” and “categories,” and the intended meaning is generally understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing charts: “proportionated,” “lowly perceived,” “lenting” and “lendings” do not fit the context. “Popular among the readers” also implies popularity rather than the share of loans, while “media form of audio and video” is imprecise. These choices limit precision even when the reader can infer your meaning. Prefer standard data-reporting language such as “accounted for,” “made up,” “borrowed” and “the smallest shares.” Check spelling as well, including “throughout” and “fluctuated,” and avoid using elaborate wording where a precise common term is clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, for example the contrast beginning “Even though” and the sentence starting “Although a decline was marked.” This shows some range, but grammatical control is uneven. The overview sentence beginning “Even though fluctuating trends…” is incomplete because the dependent clause is not properly connected to a main clause. In “readers aged 18 to 64 marked majority proportion,” the article and sentence structure are faulty, and “children, young adults and senior citizen proportionating” does not form a complete clause. There are also problems with number and punctuation, such as “senior citizen” and missing spaces after full stops. Build complete clauses first, check subject–verb structure and articles, and use complex linking clauses only when their grammar is secure.
