Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover all three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the largest loan shares, and total loans rise overall from 2007 to 2016. The figures for the age groups and the two 38% fiction categories are accurate. However, the overview is unclear when it says “large ratio in loan taking is seed approximately 22,000,” and the trend description is imprecise: loans peak at about 21,000 in 2011, fall to around 19,600 in 2013, then recover to about 21,700 in 2016. Also, the remaining categories are not all below 2%: children’s non-fiction is 6% and adult non-fiction is 13%. Clarify the overview and report these comparisons accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening overview is followed by details about membership, loan categories and the time series. This makes the main topics easy to locate. However, progression within the overview is weakened by the unclear sentence about “large ratio in loan taking,” and the final paragraph ends abruptly after “22,000 loans.” Linking words such as “Moreover” and “after this” are used, but the relationships between ideas are not always precise; for example, “Moreover” does not clearly connect the 2011 rise to the 2013 decline. Use a clearer overview, organise each chart’s details in a complete paragraph, and connect changes with specific time references rather than relying on general transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “age groups,” “increased gradually,” “drop,” and “small increase,” so the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or inaccurate, such as “a loans,” “loan taking,” “high loan taking,” and “large ratio.” The phrase “seed approximately 22,000” is especially unclear, while “same ratio” would be better expressed as “the same proportion” or “equal shares.” There is also repetition of “seen” and “increase.” Build a more precise range of chart language, such as “accounted for,” “share,” “peaked at,” and “recovered,” and check that each phrase describes the data naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate the main information using both simple statements and some longer structures, including “In 2016 Little Chalfont library members were in four age groups.” However, some grammatical errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. The opening has an article and noun-form problem in “about a loans and age,” and “at public library” needs an article. In “young adults 13–17 age uses 15%,” the subject and verb do not agree, and the age phrase is not formed correctly. The final sentence also lacks a clear grammatical ending after “22,000 loans.” Use complete sentences with consistent past-tense reporting, check articles and singular/plural agreement, and punctuate the final trend description clearly.
