Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main subject and report several relevant features, including the adult membership share of 51%, the equal 38% shares for children’s and adult fiction, and the overall rise in loans by 2016. However, some figures are assigned to the wrong groups: the chart shows 15% for young adults and 12% for members aged 65 and over, whereas your response reverses these. The loan trend is also only partly described: it rises to about 21,000 in 2011, falls to around 19,600 in 2013, then recovers, rather than simply decreasing dramatically. The overview is limited, and several categories in the loans table are omitted. More accurate comparisons and a clearer summary of the main patterns would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response is arranged in a generally understandable order: it introduces the charts, discusses membership, then loans over time and loan categories. This gives the reader a basic progression, and phrases such as “on the other hand” and “after than 2013” attempt to connect ideas. However, the opening sentence is crowded, and the links between some points are unclear or mechanical. For example, “The loans of library decreased dramatically and after than 2013 it was gone to increased” does not clearly explain the sequence of the trend. The membership figures are also presented in a confusing order. Use separate, focused paragraphs and clearer transitions to distinguish the charts and make comparisons easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “increased,” “decreased,” and “remained same,” so the reader can recognise the main topics and trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For instance, “where the total loans spend” is not a natural way to describe loan categories, and “loans were highly spend” is unclear. “Adult function” appears to mean adult fiction, while “less almost one-forths” does not express a clear comparison. Spelling errors such as “dramactically” also reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of chart-description phrases and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a comparison introduced by “on the other hand” and a sequence describing changes in loans. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some statements difficult to understand. Examples include “The more than half library users are adults,” “The children library users is 22%,” and “In the 2016 the loans were on peak,” where articles, word order, agreement, or sentence structure are not controlled. The long opening sentence also lacks clear grammatical organisation. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences and use past-tense forms consistently when describing the 2007–2016 data; then combine ideas only when the grammar remains clear.
