Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group, the two fiction categories each account for 38% of loans, and total loans rise overall between 2007 and 2016. These are relevant and generally accurate. However, the overview is mostly a description of what each visual shows rather than a clear summary of the main patterns. The age figures are not consistently identified as percentages, and the table discussion calls the smallest categories “three” even though it then gives their values unclearly. The loan trend also needs more precise reporting: it rises from about 15,700, peaks around 21,000 in 2011, fluctuates, and reaches about 21,700 in 2016. Select and compare these key features more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the age chart, category table, and loan trend. This makes the information broadly easy to follow, and the visuals are discussed in a sensible order. However, the overview repeats the introduction by explaining what each visual presents, rather than connecting the main findings. Some linking is awkward or mechanical, as in “Although, the table presents,” and the table paragraph’s reference to “the three categories” is confusing because the values that follow do not clearly distinguish the smallest category from the two equal ones. Improve progression by grouping comparisons and using clear references, while avoiding unnecessary transitions and punctuation that interrupts the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportions,” “categories,” “fluctuating,” and “gradually rise,” so the reader can understand the general subject and trends. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “age groups proportion,” “the smallest proportion is hold by,” and “loans were taking” do not express the intended meanings naturally. There are also spelling errors such as “libray” and “nuimber,” and repeated use of “period” makes the description less precise. Aim for accurate chart language such as “accounted for,” “stood at,” and “the number of loans,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make your vocabulary more precise and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a comparison with “while” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The main information is usually understandable, but some sentence structures are incomplete or incorrectly formed. For example, “Although, the table presents…” is not a complete contrast structure, and “the smallest proportion is hold by adults 65 and over” has an incorrect verb form. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and punctuation, such as “the the bar chart” and the missing space after “2016.” Work on forming complete clauses and controlling verb forms and sentence boundaries. More accurate complex sentences would help you express comparisons without making the reader pause to interpret them.
