Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response identifies some relevant features: adults form the largest membership group at 51%, children are next at 22%, and the two fiction categories each account for 38% of loans. It also notes that loans peaked in 2016 and that 2015 was slightly lower. However, coverage is minimal and several details are inaccurate or unclear. The table reports loan categories, not how many books are stored, and the 2016 total is about 21,700, not nearly 25,000. The overview also omits the broad pattern across the decade, including the rise from 2007 followed by fluctuations. Report the charts accurately and compare the main categories and trend rather than describing only a few isolated points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence, moving from the membership chart to the table and then the loans graph. Phrases such as “At the first chart,” “The secound table,” and “In the last grap chart” help signal this order, and the ideas are grouped into separate paragraphs. However, the progression is mostly a list of chart descriptions rather than a connected summary, and some references are unclear: “the first chart” is called a pie chart even though the data are presented as age-group figures, while “the table” is described as books in the library. Use a clear overview followed by organised comparisons, and connect related facts with accurate linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant terms such as “members,” “fiction,” “percent,” and “total number of loans.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to read, including “blow,” “discribe,” “difarent,” “repragents,” and “grap chart.” Some expressions are also imprecise for the data: “books store in the library” does not describe loan shares, and “covered more than half of the chart” is less accurate than saying adults made up just over half of members. Build a more precise chart vocabulary, for example “accounted for,” “proportion,” “category,” and “fluctuated,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response uses mostly simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to combine ideas using “which” and “and.” Errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms are frequent enough to make some statements awkward or unclear. For example, “there are three types of chart” does not agree in number, and “most of the members are adults, they covered…” joins two clauses incorrectly. The phrase “how many books store in the library” is also missing a suitable verb construction, while “2016 is the year when they have most of the loans” uses an unsuitable tense and structure for describing past data. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build comparisons with controlled clauses, such as “Loans rose to…” and “Adults accounted for…”.
