Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover all three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the largest loan shares, and total loans rise overall between 2007 and 2016. The figures for the age groups and most loan categories are reported accurately. This meets the task well, with some features more fully covered than others. However, the overview is not clearly separated from the details, and the trend description is imprecise: loans peak at about 21,700 in 2016, not “more than 22,000,” and the 2010 figure is about 20,600 rather than 20,000. The final age-group comparison also incorrectly gives the over-65 group as 2%; it is 12%. A concise, accurate overview and closer checking of figures would strengthen the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has some organisation: it begins by introducing the visuals, then discusses membership and loan trends, and later gives category details. Paragraph breaks help distinguish parts of the report. However, the progression is not consistently clear because information is repeated—for example, the 2016 loan total is mentioned twice, and the age-group ranking is revisited at the end. Connectors such as “Whereas,” “Meanwhile,” and “It also shows” are sometimes used mechanically or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph also repeats earlier information rather than adding a distinct comparison. Grouping the response into a clear introduction, overview, and two focused detail paragraphs, with more precise referencing, would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “proportion,” “fluctuation,” “increased,” and “remained,” and you distinguish categories such as “adult non-fiction” and “audio books.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main information. However, spelling errors and imprecise or repetitive phrasing are noticeable, including “illustartes,” “categoty,” “memebrs,” and repeated use of “total number of loans.” Some expressions are not natural for this task, such as “had the highest proportion” and “smaller portions of loans.” Use standard chart language consistently, and check spelling and category names carefully; for example, the chart says “Children’s fiction,” not “Children’s science fiction.” More precise collocations would make the report clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “whereas” and “while,” and the main message is generally understandable. However, sentence boundaries and punctuation are often unreliable: the opening sentence joins two independent clauses with a comma, and “2016.the” lacks a space and proper sentence punctuation. There are also errors in sentence construction and agreement, as in “the total loans by categoty in 2016 is,” while “where then it remained unchange” shows an unsuccessful attempt to link clauses. The final sentence is difficult to interpret because its structure breaks down. Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate verb forms and punctuation.
