Student answer (Band 5.5)
The picture reflect the data of a small town called Little Chalfont Library. In the pictorial representaion we can see the total amount of loan taken in last fourteen years. The receiver belong from different age groups but the majority of the people are from age group 18 - 64 and quite intrestingly they have shown intrest in children fictions.
From the early 2007 it started, where people actually showed intrest in and overall, the number went up to a wooping 15 thousand aprox. As the time passed the number kept on climbing high and high. Although we saw in the 2013 it showed a little declining effect to the trend but and the year passed the number crossed 20 thousand and this stagring effect kept it pushing to more and more.
If we some up the numbers, we can see the most of age groups which were involved in the acitivty was the adults taking children fiction and adult fiction where as in paralle to the least taken was Children DVDs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant features, including the dominance of adults aged 18–64 and the high shares for children’s and adult fiction, while also noting that children’s DVDs account for the smallest loan category. However, the response only partially summarises the charts: it gives little detail about the age-group proportions or the category percentages, and the loan trend is described vaguely rather than with clear comparisons. The statement that loans rose to about 15,000 “from the early 2007” is inaccurate as a trend description: 15,700 is the starting figure, and the total generally rises to around 21,700 by 2016, despite fluctuations. A clearer overview and a few accurate figures would make the main features more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has some organisation: it begins with a general introduction, then discusses the loan trend, and ends with comments on age groups and loan categories. This gives the reader a basic sense of the topic. However, progression is not consistently clear, partly because the charts are not systematically covered and the final paragraph combines different comparisons without explaining their relationship. Linking phrases such as “Although” and “As the time passed” are attempted, but some are inaccurate or awkwardly connected, as in “but and the year passed.” References such as “the number” are also unclear because it is not always obvious whether this means members or loans. Grouping the information into a clear overview and focused detail paragraphs would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “age groups,” “trend,” “declining,” and “children’s fiction,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “loan taken” is not a natural way to describe library borrowing, and “stagring effect” does not communicate a clear trend. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “pictorial representaion,” “intrest,” “wooping,” and “acitivty.” Aim for precise chart language such as “the number of loans,” “accounted for,” and “fluctuated,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, and verb forms occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For instance, “The picture reflect” has subject–verb disagreement, while “The receiver belong from different age groups” has an incorrect verb form and sentence pattern. The sentence beginning “Although we saw in the 2013” is incomplete in its construction and then continues with the confusing sequence “but and the year passed.” Articles and prepositions are also sometimes missing or incorrectly used, as in “from the early 2007.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled comparisons with accurate past-tense forms and clear subjects.
