Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover all three visuals and report several accurate figures, including the 51% share of members aged 18–64, the equal 38% shares for fiction, and the 1% share for children’s DVDs. You also identify 2007 as the lowest-loan year and 2016 as the highest. However, the response lacks a clear overall summary of the main patterns: for example, it does not state that loans generally rose over the period despite fluctuations, or that adults form the largest membership group. Some trend details are imprecise: loans were above 20,000 in 2010–12 and 2014–16, not just through 2015. A more selective overview and more precise comparisons would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response is arranged in a sensible sequence, with separate sections for membership, loan categories and the time-series chart. This makes the information easy to locate, and linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “Whereas” help connect details. The organisation is coherent overall, but the progression is somewhat list-like: each chart is described in turn without a distinct overview that brings the main findings together. Some transitions are also awkward, such as “Here is also given some information,” and the final paragraph moves through years without clearly grouping the overall rise, dip and recovery. Add a concise overview after the introduction and use clearer comparisons between periods to make the progression more purposeful.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “percentage,” “category,” “slightly below” and “same level,” so the meaning is generally clear. However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “high amount the of loans,” “major percentage,” and “in the duration of nine-year.” There are also spelling and form errors, including “LIttle,” “membership,” “categries” and “laons,” which reduce accuracy. The repeated use of “amount of loans” could be replaced with more natural chart language such as “number of loans” or “loan total.” Aim for accurate collocations and proofread spelling; this would broaden and sharpen the vocabulary without requiring unnecessarily complex wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, and most of the figures remain understandable. However, errors in agreement and sentence construction occur in several places: “The charts below illustrates” should be “illustrate,” “Adults … consists” should be “Adults … constitute,” and “fiction … holds” should be “fiction … accounts for.” There are also problems with articles, prepositions and phrasing, as in “in the duration of nine-year” and “between 2007 to 2016.” The sentence beginning “Least amount of the loans were…” is awkwardly formed, and the final paragraph relies mainly on simple statements. Practise accurate comparative and trend sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and article use while retaining some complex structures.
