Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover all three visuals and identify several important features, including the largest membership group, the smallest loan category, and the broad rise and fall in annual loans. Most category figures are reported accurately. However, the overview is limited: saying loans were “higher in 2016” does not explain that the total generally rose over the period despite fluctuations, and the final trend description is cut off at “finally in 2016 j”, leaving the endpoint unclear. The statement that children were the second-largest membership group is accurate, but the annual figures could be selected more precisely, especially the peak in 2015 and the final increase. A fuller overview and complete reporting of the trend would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of membership, loan categories, and the time series. This helps readers follow the different charts, and phrases such as “Regarding with library members” and “As for total loans” signal topic changes. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes awkward, and some linking is mechanical or unclear. For example, “Both yound adults adult audio books responsible for 2%” does not clearly connect the two categories, while “Then again increased” lacks a clear subject. The final sentence also stops abruptly, disrupting the ending. Use complete sentences, clearer references such as “the total number of loans,” and a concise concluding trend statement to improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “contributed,” “share,” “portion,” “decreased,” and “increased,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision. “Made the highest number” is less suitable for percentages than “accounted for the largest share,” and “the loan was lowest” is imprecise when describing total loans. There are also noticeable errors such as “yound,” “incresed,” and “upto.” Aim for accurate, varied expressions for proportions and trends, and proofread spelling. For example, distinguish “members” from “loans” consistently and use “reached a peak” or “stood at” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex forms, including “Children’s fiction contributed the greater portion of loans along with adult fiction,” and use past-tense verbs to describe the historical data. However, the range is limited, and errors occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “Total number of loans were higher,” where the singular subject requires “was,” and “Young adults and adults 65 and over contributed 15%, 12% respectively,” which needs clearer punctuation and a grammatical construction such as “contributed 15% and 12%, respectively.” “Regarding with library members” also has an incorrect preposition pattern, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise accurate sentence patterns for comparisons and ensure every sentence has a complete clause.
