Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover all three visuals and provide a clear overview: adults form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the highest loan shares, and total loans rise overall. Most figures are accurately selected, including the equal 38% shares for children’s and adult fiction and the rise to about 22,000 in 2016. The main factual imprecision is describing the membership figures as “people”; the chart gives percentages (51%, 22%, 15% and 12%), not counts. Your account of the loan trend is also somewhat general: it would be stronger to note the early rise, the fluctuations after 2011, and the final peak. Overall, the task is addressed clearly, though some comparisons and trend details could be more precisely developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear four-paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to membership and category details, then the decade-long trend. This gives the reader a logical route through the three visuals. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “If we talk about,” and “For the period” help signal shifts, but some connections feel mechanical or conversational, and the final paragraph’s sequence of changes could be more smoothly expressed. The overview also repeats information that is developed immediately afterward. To strengthen progression, group related comparisons more tightly and use concise transitions that show contrast or change, such as “by comparison” and “after peaking.” Clear organisation is already present, but cohesion is not consistently flexible or polished.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “category,” “declining,” and “reached,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are attempts at more formal reporting language, but several choices are inaccurate or awkward: “great proportion,” “second portion covered by,” and “percentatge of loan” do not sound natural in this context. “Session” is also an imprecise description of the year 2016. Spelling slips such as “eventualy” and “percentatge” reduce accuracy, while repeated use of “about” and “followed by” limits variety. Aim for precise chart language—especially “percentage,” “share,” and “accounted for”—and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex forms, including the contrast in “While, children’s DVD has least…” and the time sequence describing loans from 2007 to 2016. However, some errors recur in agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “the great proportion … are adults” has a singular subject with a plural verb, while “children’s DVD has least percentage” needs an article and a more complete structure. In “Later, it start declining,” the verb form is incorrect, and “the total number of loans were” does not agree with the singular subject. Punctuation after introductory clauses is also sometimes awkward. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more reliable control of basic sentence patterns and tense consistency is needed.
