Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover all three visuals and identify some important features, including the two largest loan categories, each at 38%, and the 13% share for adult non-fiction. However, several key details are inaccurate or unclear. The membership figures are 51% for adults aged 18–64, 22% for children, 15% for young adults and 12% for those aged 65 and over; describing the latter groups as “one third” is misleading. The loans chart peaks at about 21,700 in 2016, not simply above 20,000 across the listed years, and its lowest point is about 15,700 in 2007. Your overview mentions broad highs but does not clearly summarise the overall pattern. Select the main comparisons accurately and describe the rise, fluctuations and final peak more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the membership figures, loan categories and yearly totals, followed by an overview. This makes the visuals easy to locate. You also use linking expressions such as “In addition” and “Moreover.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and some connectors create incomplete or awkward links, as in “While the one third part…” and “Meanwhile, other parts…”. The final overview repeats information from the category paragraph rather than bringing the main trends together. Use complete sentences, group related comparisons clearly, and make the overview synthesise the largest membership group, leading loan categories and overall trend in loans.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “proportion,” “total loans,” “category,” “fiction” and “non-fiction,” so the reader can generally identify what is being described. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision. For example, “the highest loans” is not a natural way to describe the largest shares, while “loans spend on adults non-fiction” obscures the meaning. Repeated misspellings such as “persentage,” “libarary” and “mamebres” also make the writing less clear. Build a small set of accurate chart-description phrases, such as “accounted for,” “the largest share” and “loan totals,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentence forms and use basic past-tense reporting, but control is inconsistent. Several sentences are fragments or have faulty clause structure, including “While the one third part of mamebres…” and “Only 6% of total loans by category children's non-fiction.” There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “the highest number of loan up to 20,000” and the run-on transition “..., 2016. while…”. These errors sometimes make relationships between figures difficult to understand. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences, using accurate forms such as “accounted for 6%,” and punctuating each comparison as a complete sentence. Vary sentence patterns only after the basic structures are reliable.
