Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify several relevant headline features: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, adult fiction is a leading loan category, and loans peak in 2016. However, the report covers the charts only minimally and leaves out key information, including the membership percentages, the full breakdown of loan categories, and how loan totals changed over the decade. The claim that children’s fiction is the “second most favourite category” is not accurate: it ties with adult fiction at 38%, while adult non-fiction is next at 13%. The response is also substantially below the required 150 words: it contains 68 words, with 11 prompt words excluded. Add a fuller overview and select and compare supporting figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall shape: an opening sentence, an overview beginning “Overall,” and a short paragraph with further comments. This gives the reader some sense of the topic and separates the main points. However, the ideas do not progress through the three visuals in a clear, complete order, and the final paragraph repeats the comparison between adult membership and adult fiction rather than developing new information. The phrase “After that” does not clearly show which groups or categories are being compared, and the unfinished line break after “is” interrupts the flow. Organise the report into a brief introduction, a clear overview, and focused detail paragraphs, using comparisons and references that make each relationship explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “members,” “category of loans,” and “number of loans,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the report less clear, such as “magaurity,” “hightest,” “childern,” and “chidern's.” “Favourite” is also imprecise for describing the proportions of loans; “largest share” or “most borrowed category” would be more suitable. The phrase “adult young members” is unclear and does not accurately name the age groups. Aim to use precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “represented,” and “loan total,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response communicates a few basic points through short sentences, but the grammatical range is very limited and errors recur. For example, “The given chart illustrate” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the age of the magaurity members are” has an unclear grammatical construction and mismatched agreement. The sentence “After that the childern and adult young members, so…” is incomplete because it lacks a clear main clause before “so.” The report also relies on simple sentence patterns and does not show controlled use of more varied structures. Practise forming complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use comparison structures such as “Adults aged 18–64 made up the largest group, whereas…”.
