Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify two relevant features: fiction accounts for the largest shares of loans, and the total number of loans is lowest at the start and highest at the end. However, the overview is incomplete because it omits the age profile of members, and the response does not adequately summarise all three visuals. Some details are inaccurate: the 2008 and 2009 totals are about 19,000, not 20,000, and the 2016 figure is about 21,700 rather than 22,000. The description of the category shares is also unclear, particularly the statement about children’s non-fiction and DVDs. The response contains 138 words, below the required 150. Include the member-age figures and describe the loan trend more precisely to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, useful structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for category shares and the loan trend. This helps the reader recognise the main topics. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking expressions are not always used accurately. For example, “On the other hand” does not establish a clear contrast with the preceding paragraph, while “although” in the overview is awkwardly attached to the previous statement. The final paragraph also moves through years without a clear sequence of comparisons. Use straightforward transitions such as “Regarding the loan total” and organise the trend chronologically, grouping the rise, decline, and later recovery. Clearer sentence boundaries would also improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “total loans,” “accounted for,” “fluctuation,” and “slight decreased,” and you attempt to describe proportions and trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to follow. “Dollers” is inappropriate because the chart shows loan counts, not money, and “who intrested to get loans” does not accurately describe the data. There are also repeated spelling problems, such as “chlafont,” “higest,” and “mnumbet.” Choose precise chart language such as “share,” “percentage,” “number of loans,” “rose,” and “fell,” and check spelling carefully. This would make the information clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a comparison of the two fiction categories and a description of changes over time. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “The given table and bar graph gives” has subject–verb disagreement, while “children fiction and adult fiction were the more interested to get loan” has an unclear grammatical structure. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “loans.although” and “2013. again.” Practise forming accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past-tense verbs consistently when reporting the 2007–2016 data. Check agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
