Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the three visuals and report several relevant figures, including the member-age proportions and the 53% adult and 45% children’s shares of loans. However, the response only partly summarises the main features. The loan trend is inaccurately described: it began at about 15,700, rose to around 21,000 by 2011, then fluctuated and finished at approximately 21,700—not 20,000. The statement that adults “did not take loan at all” also contradicts the data, since adult categories account for 53% of loans. The overview is weak: the final comment about technology and reading is not supported by the charts, and there is no clear summary of the overall trend or the dominance of adult members and fiction loans. Prioritise accurate comparisons and a data-based overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response follows a generally understandable order, moving from the membership chart to the loan categories and then the time series. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and phrases such as “on the other hand” attempt to connect comparisons. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the sentence about adults and children combines several category figures without explaining the comparison, and “adults did not take loan at all” conflicts with the preceding information. The final technology comment also feels disconnected from the chart summary. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and key details, and link comparisons explicitly—for example, distinguish membership shares from loan shares. This would make the organisation more coherent and cohesion less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “age group,” “total number of loans,” “fiction,” and “fluctuate,” so the subject is usually recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or awkward choices make parts difficult to interpret. “Adults are leisure” does not express a clear comparison, while “started from 15000 debtors” mislabels the loan total and obscures the trend. There are also spelling errors such as “cateories,” and repeated use of “taken” makes the description less precise. Aim for standard chart language and accurate collocations, such as “accounted for,” “loan share,” “rose,” and “ended at.” Check spelling and word forms carefully, especially in key data descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentences and uses basic linking structures, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently enough to make several statements unclear. For example, “Pie chart demonstrate” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “which started from 15000 debtors that reach to 20,000” has an unclear relative clause and inconsistent verb forms. The sentence beginning “As adults are leisure” is also grammatically incomplete in meaning, while “they children who had taken” has faulty sentence structure. Articles and plural forms are inconsistent, as in “the loan” and “adults did not take loan.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. Use past tense consistently when describing the 2007–2016 figures.
