Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover all three visuals and give a clear overview: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the largest loan shares, and loans peak in 2016. The age percentages and the two 38% fiction figures are reported accurately. However, some details are incomplete or imprecise. The trend is not simply upward: loans rise from about 15,700 in 2007, fluctuate, and finish at about 21,700; the 2013 figure is around 19,600, not 19,000. The conclusion also predicts that growth will continue, which the chart cannot establish. To strengthen the response, describe the main changes across the period more precisely and include another useful comparison from the loan categories, such as adult non-fiction at 13%.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, details about membership and loan categories, and a paragraph on the time trend. This gives the reader a coherent overall arrangement, and phrases such as “Overall” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt: the age-group figures and the fiction/DVD comparisons are joined in one long section, while the final conclusion repeats the overview and adds an unsupported prediction. Some linking is mechanical, and punctuation spacing makes boundaries less clear, as in “Overall, people” and “From 2007-2016.the rate”. Grouping the two pie/table visuals together and giving the trend its own focused paragraph would make the comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “categories,” “loans,” “increasing trend,” and “fluctuation,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, the range and control are uneven, with repeated or imprecise expressions such as “number of borrowing” and “largest percentage of member.” Several spelling errors—“numbe,” “percenatge,” “adutls,” and “lower percentafe”—are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the report. Some phrases also sound unnatural, for example “has been proved greater number of members” and “rate of loans showed increasing trend.” Aim for concise, conventional chart language and check spelling carefully; more precise collocations would make your comparisons clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the overview contrast “On the other hand” and the comparison “Both children and adult fictions have similar rate of loans.” However, control is limited, and errors occur across sentence structures, articles, agreement, and punctuation. For example, “the largest percenatge of member” lacks appropriate number and article forms, while “children's fiction and adult fiction books have been borrowed most” is awkwardly constructed. The opening sentence also combines several chart descriptions without a clear grammatical structure. Capitalisation after commas is inconsistent, and full stops are sometimes misplaced, as in “From 2007-2016.the rate”. Practise building accurate short comparison sentences before combining ideas into longer ones.
