Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main subject and attempt to cover the membership chart, loan categories and decade-long trend. Some comparisons are relevant, such as adults aged 18–64 being the largest membership group and children’s DVDs having the smallest loan share. However, several key figures or interpretations are inaccurate: the 51% figure is reported as “fifty one percentage” rather than 51, and the final paragraph reverses the loan totals, calling 2016 about 16,000 and 2007 about 21,000. The overview that loans show a rising trend is broadly supported, but it misses the fluctuations and the approximate peak in 2016. The category overview is also unclear because adult fiction and children’s fiction are tied at 38%. More accurate reporting and a clearer overview would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening overview followed by separate paragraphs about membership, loan categories and annual loans. This helps the reader identify which chart is being discussed. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and the overview does not consistently guide the details that follow. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand,” “Furthermore” and “However” are used, but some do not express a clear contrast or relationship. The final paragraph is especially confusing because its figures contradict the earlier claim of a rising trend. Improve cohesion by grouping related comparisons, using simpler and more precise transitions, and checking that each paragraph’s details support its main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “members,” “total loans,” “category,” “fiction” and “trend,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “adults(18-64) contain half of the total members” is not a natural way to describe a proportion, and “minimum age member” does not clearly mean the smallest membership group. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “ficion,” “higest,” “tweleve,” “audiio” and “ov arall.” Use precise terms such as “accounted for” and “share,” and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Examples include “The Given charts depicts,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “The table illustrate,” which has the same problem. Articles and sentence construction are also unreliable in “a individual library” and “there are fifty one percentage of the members is Adults.” Some sentences join several ideas without clear punctuation, while the final paragraph’s wording makes the comparison difficult to interpret. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plural forms and sentence boundaries. Building clear, correct simple sentences before adding complex clauses will improve readability.
