Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover all three visuals and identify the main features: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group, fiction leads the loan categories, and total loans rise overall from 2007 to 2016. The figures you give for the age groups and leading loan categories are broadly accurate. Your overview also notes fluctuation, although “among all categories” is imprecise because the line graph shows total loans over time, not category-by-category borrowing. The trend would be better supported by noting the rise to about 21,000 in 2011, the subsequent dip, and the peak in 2016. You also omit some useful category details, such as the 2% shares for young-adult loans and adult audio books. More precise coverage of the trend would strengthen an otherwise clear summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for membership, loan categories, and the time trend. This makes the information easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Moreover,” and “Whereas” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the final paragraph combines category comparisons with the decade-long trend, so the organisation is less controlled there. Some links are also awkward or unclear: “Whereas” does not form a complete contrast with the preceding sentence, and “with some increase and decrease trend its end” makes the sequence difficult to follow. Give the time-series its own clearly developed sentence or paragraph and use simpler, more precise transitions to make progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use enough topic vocabulary to describe the visuals, including “membership,” “categories,” “borrowed,” and “total number of loans.” Terms such as “fiction,” “non-fiction,” and “young adults” are relevant and help distinguish the data. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “borrowed more rather than,” “borrowed accountablly,” “loaned books,” and “the user.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, but they reduce precision. Spelling and form also need attention in “childrens” and “dvds.” Aim for standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “made up,” “members,” and “loans,” and check spelling and apostrophes when referring to categories.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “While” and a relative description of the age group. The main comparisons remain understandable, but grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “the borrowing rate fluctuate” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “its end with approximately 22,000” uses an incorrect verb form and unclear subject. The sentence beginning “Whereas” is a fragment, and “In 2007, total number…” is missing an article. There are also problems with plural and possessive forms, as in “22% childrens are the user.” Work on complete sentence construction, agreement, articles, and consistent past-tense reporting. More accurate control of these basics would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
